KAREN WENNBERG, MA, LMHC

As a creative healer, Karen’s main goal in working with clients is to help them to become empowered through self-expression and heal naturally, finding passion, purpose and meaning.

Using art therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and strengths based approach, Karen helps her clients work through issues and begin the healing process. Transpersonal therapy that draws on a client’s spiritual strengths may also be used if desired.

As an artist, Karen enjoys working with ink and watercolor, oil pastel, sewing and 3-D assemblages. She loves camping, hiking, biking and kayaking with her husband and friends as well as exploring Native America and the culturally diverse areas of New Mexico. An active member of the community, she helps to bring about transformational festivals and local electronic music shows.

Background:

Moving from New York to Santa Fe, Karen received her Master of Art Therapy/Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM in 2010. Her experience includes working with inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment and creative healing for adults, adolescents and children. She also has worked with a community counseling center that serves people from all walks of life throughout New Mexico.
